When trying to start the program, the following error appears:
- “The DSOUND.DLL file cannot start. Check the file to determine the problem.”
This issue affects computers running Microsoft Windows with versions of Direct X less than or equal to version 8. It is possible that this issue may occur with later versions of Direct X, although we have not had any reports of this occurring. This issue only relates to Spelling Force versions 1 and 2.
The cause of this issue relates to your installation of Direct X. Direct X is a Microsoft technology used in video games to provide 2D and 3D graphics, sounds, networking and other features. The most likely cause of the problem is that the file DSOUND.DLL has either become corrupt or has been deleted.
The latest version of DirectX resolves this issue.
